Joan Carol Dillon

January 19, 1936 – July 13, 2020

Joan Dillon passed away peacefully at Westhampton Care Center July 13th from complications of Alzheimer’s disease.  She is survived by her son, Harry Kijowski and wife Virginia. She was predeceased by her daughter, Joanne Kijowski, mother of two grandchildren Amy and James and 4 great grand children Leah, James, Brody and Brian; her son Richard Kijowski and granddaughters Amanda and Danielle; son Matthew Schultz, granddaughters Miranda and Hayley and great granddaughter Kinsley; daughter Tracy Stewart and husband Peter, grandchildren Peter, Charles and Jaclyn; son George Schultz, wife Cindy and grandson George IV; daughter Trish Leary, fiancé Rob Uresk and granddaughter Cheyenne. She is also survived by her sister Patricia Brown, nieces Charlene and Sherry, nephew Kevin and is predeceased by her nephew Jimmy.

A life-long citizen of the Moriches Bay Community, Joan grew up the daughter of a farmer, who was a federal employee stationed on a Coast Guard Bouy tender in Brooklyn. After he retired, he became the owner of a family run farm stand in East Moriches, which was eventually passed down to her. Because of this, she was an avid gardener, which is a trait passed down through generations of her family.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a familiar face; always ready to serve coffee and discuss the comings and goings of her small town. She was a school bus driver for many years for Montauk Bus Company, the owner of South Bay Dahlias as well as a horse breeder and rider, which was also passed down to her daughters. Her life will be remembered as follows:
